Class Reflection
From a personal standpoint, I really enjoyed this class, one of the classes I actually enjoyed going to. Unlike other lit classes I had in high school this one focused less on what actually happened in the books, but used the books as a reference points to deal with issues that we may have never though of as an issue. When we were doing Culture Jam, I actually did think about how often I use technology and can honestly say I cut back, it made me realize that while there is nothing wrong with technology sometimes it is good to get away. Although there were some books that were either repetitive or just not fun to read what so ever the in class discussions were able to keep the class fresh and make it interesting, to put it in perspective this is the only class that I was present everyday, and i really enjoyed it.

I agree with you Matt, I feel as though class discussion was always pretty interesting. It really was the first class I had as well where there were connections between the books and events happening in today's society. The class was based on opening up each individuals thoughts and expressing each of our own ideas on todays issues. I learned that books do have a lasting impact and have a powerful motive in terms of thinking and analyzing. I'm glad that I was able to look at books in a different perspective as well you did.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the class discussions too. It was nice not having to sit through complete lecture every class. The books really do have a great message and it made me realize just how down hill our society is going.
ReplyDeleteI agree that the class was enjoyable to go to. I felt like I actually learned things that can help me in the future. It has also made me realize that general education classes are just as important as our major classes. It is good to have a well rounded common knowledge over everything. I too realized technology has played a large role in my life, but I still believe that is not a bad thing. When it takes over your life and you lose all human contact, then it is a problem.
